Передача потомству неких сложных признаков, проявляющихся только в случае гомо- или гемизиготности более чем одного рецессивного гена (включая случаи отсутствия сцепления между такими генами); модель К.н. предложена У.Ламбертом в 1985 для объяснения механизмов проявления некоторых НЗЧ, при которых наблюдается одновременное нарушение существенно дифференцированных (т.е. не кодируемых единственным геном) процессов в организме; предполагается, что обязательным компонентом К.н. является один из «надзорных» генов surveillance genes, - например, ген репарации ДНК при пигментной ксеродерме xeroderma pigmentosum.
